Sustainable building Consulting
The practice of sustainable building is both ancient and new. Based on scientific principles, quality and beauty the modern built environment must accommodate a productive relationship with the earth's ecosystem. LEED AP - Building Design + Construction
As an industry initiated standard LEED represents a platform for approaching sustainable design and construction. Offering both a design intention for owners and a credible checklist for builders the USGBC has created viable and powerful green standards. Achieved LEED NC accreditation in 2009 and LEED Green Rater status in 2014.
Archictecture 2030
In 2007 I signed the 2030 Challenge. It is both practical and transformative objective. It is also becoming a reality. I envision sustainable environments as places where the elimination of carbon and other waste as not only possible, it will yield a massive increase in the quality of the built world and a shift in infrastructure and energy delivery.
Living Building Challenge Ambassador
The Challenge represents a significant shift towards a truly sustainable built environment. Achieving certification requires the latest technologies, adept and creative design as well as an exceptional commitment to the environment. On the Steering Committees for the Vancouver Canada and Los Angeles Collaboratives I believe this is the definite system for ecological buildings. Truly a challenge, the relatively few buildings that meet the requirements show that a cogenerative relationship between buildings and the environment is possible. The Living Building Challenge is designed and administered through the International Living Future Institute.
